Since 2019, Maya Cantina, a family owned taqueria, has been sharing the vibrant flavors of Mexico in Sweden.
Our menu celebrates tacos and traditional street food classics, made with fresh local ingredients and rooted in our passion for our Mexican heritage and culture, complemented by a selection of Tequila, Mezcal, beers & cocktails.

Our Story
The year is 2014. The story of Maya Cantina begins in Mexico, one of our founders hometown, where, Gonzalo and his partner Celina spent time after graduation from Les Roches University where the dream began.
In spring 2016, Gonzalo & Celina moved to Malmö and after some years of hard work, in the restaurant industry, opened the first Maya Cantina and completed their dream of serving Mexican street food and offering the best service and genuine Mexican flavours in Malmö.
Naming the restaurant MAYA, after the civilization that was dominant in the Yucatan region of Mexico, a name full of resilience, history and inspiring anecdotes involving a rescue dog, if you come across the founders, don't miss the chance to ask them about it!
